Travel back to Toronto

Said goodbye to Niagara Falls today, beautiful sunshine, sad to leave it with such good weather.
Got to Toronto at about midday, called into the motel and it wasn't quiet ready for us.  Went to a local mall where there was a Post office and we posted quite a bit back to give us a bit more room in the bags.  Postage is so much cheaper than paying for excess luggage we had a win there I think.
Went back to the motel and dropped our gear off, then into town.  Parked and walked around, mainly to the CN Tower, I wanted to make the trip to the top, Pam and Cath declined the offer, they walked around a little more till I came down in one piece, miraculously not falling to the ground.
Views for miles up there, on a clear day you can see the mist caused by the Niagara Falls 100 kilometres away.  A bit hazy today but still got a good view of the city, harbour and lake.  The top sways about a metre and you can feel the tower moving under you when standing on the top.
We've got to repack the ports tonight so we can sneak onto the plane to Vancouver tomorrow.  This time tomorrow it will be anchors away to Alaska.  Looking forward to a little rest after all our activity over the last 10 days.

Cath getting some sense out of a bronze statue, she claims it's like talking to me....not sure I'd be paying THAT much attention?

My target today. (Picture courtesy of Mr Google)

Our view from near the base.
All the next are views from the first port of call up the tower where the restaurant is located.  Others are from the 'Skypod' which you can see in the earlier Google photo, it is 33 storeys above the main restaurant level.

These are portholes which confront you as you get out of the lift on the restaurant level.

Waterfront Toronto.

City skyline.

Looking south towards the domestic airport and into Lake Erie and Niagara Falls in the far distance.
These photos are from the glass floor on the restaurant level.  The shadows are my feet.  You can see the struts/ribs of the towers reaching down to the ground.

Photo from the 'Skypod', you can see the restaurant level underneath.

North from the tower.

  1. Just as well you take plenty of photos Vernon, so Pam and Cath really didn't miss out on experiencing the tower - without all the trauma! Great photos. xoxo
