Last day in Niagara Falls

Planned another busy day for today.  First up was a trip into town to get a few things from the shops.  After a coffee we asked staff there where all the shops were….in the suburbs they said.  We decided to visit the casino where we parked in town.  Won ourselves $100 and went straight to Walmart to spend the cash.  Bought a few things and headed back towards the falls for the White Water walk down at river level and up against the rapids.  Can’t believe the speed and volume of the water rushing past at 40 km/h.  Gave us a great insight into the power of the water.

From there we did a trip on the gondola across the Whirlpool Rapids.  Pam was a little apprehensive but the views were interesting, watching the water beneath us being cut up by the jet boats.

Then, for one of the highlights we had a helicopter flight.  The pictures tell the story.

Last tonight we had a late tea and waited for the light show on the falls.  Difficult to capture the scene with our cameras, I have included a couple which will give you an idea of what sort of thing they present.

The casino we where we nearly broke the bank.

The fountain in the forecourt

About 1 hundredths of the shops we (Pam and Cath) went into today.
Coming out of the tunnel to the rapids.

Just one little push........

Watching the water.

Looks a bit unsafe?

Over the Whirlpool.

Everyone getting wet in the jet boat.

Pams look of expectation.

With a little prayer to help.
The whirlpool rapids.

The American Falls on the left and the Horseshoe Falls on the right.

Falls from another angle.

Rapids leading to the falls.

Pam really did fly!!!

Coming in to land.

Safely back on land.

The girls at Souvenir World...and in front of every cliche Canada has to offer.

An Inuit symbol....I'll explain it later.

The falls from yet another angle.
Interesting poster showing the erosion over the last 400 years.
The casino after dark.

The light show at the falls.

  1. In the interest of maintaining our friendship Pam, I will refrain from making any comment about the abject terror on your face. The Pics say it all !!!
Vernon, they say the bruises fade in a few days.
And how's Cathy's hand ? Multiple fractures one would suspect.

Enjoying the pics and commentary too.
