Day 2 cruising - along the west coast of Canada

Early start today, went for a walk around the deck before breakfast saw a seal having a look around.  Big breakfast again, just too many choices.  Pam and Cath went to a jewellery display/presentation.  I went to a digital camera/photography  presentation.  I think I got the better deal.  I got a coffee and went to the front of the ship, the wind blew to foam off the top of my coffee, a bit breezy up there.  Great weather though, blue skies and almost no wind, seas flat.  Met for lunch and had the drink of the day, some highly flammable concoction which made us all very sleepy.  Once again too much to eat – think I’ll finish this weeks cruise as an overweight alcoholic?

Pam and I went to the back of the ship where we had a beer and wine, I may have dozed off for a minute.  Walked back to the centre of the ship and watched as a couple of hundred dolphin chased a school of fish to all parts around the ship while a pod of whale hung back a couple of hundred metres off to the side.  Didn’t see much of the whales except for their backs while they blew a little stem, too lazy to show themselves above the water just yet.  Later found a pod of orca (killer whales).

Pam and Cath off to bingo at 3.3o and was hoping they’d be cashed up when they finished….no such luck.  I kept an eye on the wildlife while relaxing on the deck. Coffee and cake at 5pm while we sail past the snow capped mountains of Canada to the west and the whales and dolphins in the east.   Had a quiet drink on the balcony watching the sunset over the calm sea before a formal dinner at 8pm.

Another beautiful dinner followed by a less successful visit to the casino, better luck next time.
Getting sunburnt in Alaska.

The running track on the top deck, used it constantly.

Happy campers looking for a wave.

And then the fog rolled in.

And rolled out again.

Hope this story ends a little better than the one about another cruise ship.

The ocean was like glass.

A selfie with the timer...cheating I know.

  1. Ah life on the ocean waves...nothing like it. Agree about the food and drink...could end up a bit porky folks if not careful !! But who cares. Go for it !!
Sorry to hear about suitcase incident..obviously shopping terrorists at work. Good to hear you replaced it Pam. Wouldnt want you to miss out :)
Fancy running into someone from Tba !! only degrees of separation you know. Yes the wildlife is something else isnt it. And the snow, mtns and glacier. A pic around every corner.
We are in Tba for a few days at the Noye residence while they are away. Lovely weather but pretty dry here.
    All is well in Oz.
