Getting in to The Big Apple

As usual a very long trip, little wonder we try to stretch it out to a 6 week holiday so we can take advantage of the grueling trip.  Got to Los Angeles and we had prebooked spots in the Delta Sky Lounge, luxurious showers, free beer, wine and food, well worth it after a tough trip. When we disembarked we lined up for 45mins to get through Immigration, another 45mins to get through Customs, then another 45mins to book our luggage through to New York, very tiring.
The flight from LA to NYC seemed to take forever even though it was only 5 hours.  Got in through the Domestic Terminal so only about 20mins for luggage pickup, a 30mins line up for a taxi.  As usual we picked the most incompetent taxi driver in NYC!!  He had no idea what direction to go, I handed him the Hotel  name and address….he stopped in a deserted street, there was a broken down car full of gang members about 200 metres up the road…they were on the phone…organising a ‘hit’, calling for backup, arranging a drug drop, were all Pams guesses’.
Finally got going after his SatNav found New York, we escaped certain death on a lonely back street in New York and made it to the motel.

Weeelll…we got a little surprise here too…we have it for 6 nights, there is a toilet, there is a bed.  The whole motel, rooms included are covered in granite and mirrors.  There is a spa in the corner beside the bed….the spa has a shower nozzle and 4 thousand mirrors on the walls, ceiling and spa, there are mirrors reflecting mirrors reflecting mirrors.  Not a good look when you can see 100 naked Vernons in the bedroom showering while watching Good Morning America.  I think Pam is feeling a little ill.  There will be photos (of the room…none of Vernon…I don’t think the world is ready for that just yet).
